What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic dance is a form of conscious dance. It is a free flow dance meditation guided by a special selection of music rhythms. We can use the music as a vehicle to tap into different energies in our bodies. At m.o.v.e. in ecstatic dance we choose different kinds of music to touch these different emotional and visionary spaces, that unlock the e-motion (energy in motion) that has become stagnant in our bodies.

Come to dance and express your hidden emotions and expand your body language. Ecstatic doesn't just mean joy, love, happiness, ecstasy, passion. We can also dance grief, sadness, anger, frustration and so on. Whatever comes up is welcomed to be fully expressed.

Through dancing you give yourself space to feel whatever is moving through you. Ecstatic dance is a space in which you can explore yourself. Explore deeper layers within yourself. In this space in which you have the opportunity to embody parts of yourself that ordinarily get denied, everything is welcome! Whether it is silly, goofy, weird, funny, powerful, sensual, fluid, slow, poetic, wild, fierce, chaotic, every piece of who you are, is invited to animate the body. That invitation to express our wholeness can heal us.

About the Event

The ecstatic dance event is a substance free dance journey.

Through body exploration, psycho-somatic exploration and social activation you will be invited to arrive in your body and connect with it. This will be helpful when entering the dance. In the dance there is no guidance/no instructions. Except for the music moving you. After the dance you will be guided into soothing relaxation, through a meditative sound journey with singing bowls and other instruments.

At ecstatic dance events you will dive into a community with like minded people and explore in a judgment free space. When we surrender and don't think about what it may look like or what you want the movement to be, that is when the magic really happens. You will enter into a safe space where you can be yourself, your honest, genuine self.

The ecstatic dance event is a dance journey in which you can let go and free yourself of judgment, limitations, fears, ideas and limiting beliefs that stem from the ego mind. A specifically guided Ecstatic Dance set will be played, that will allow you to trigger and release emotions. To move old stagnant energy, that waits to be released. So that you can make space for the peace that exists within all of us.

The ecstatic dance event is not only an opportunity to connect with yourself in a deeper way. It is also about consciously becoming aware of your surroundings and connecting to the people around you. It is a way to connect beyond words. We learn to feel, see and understand the other person through energy, body language and body movements. Merging our energy's into one wave of movement. Being in connection with other people, while staying connected with yourself is essential when it comes to connection. In ecstatic dance you have the opportunity to practice this and take this quality with yourself in your day to day activities with other people.

Inner Trance Dance

What is Inner Trance Dance?

Dance is one of the simplest ways to celebrate life and heal yourself.

In our society, dance often focuses on the external form. In inner trance dance, however, the most important thing is the inner experience. Trance dance is a simple way to touch your hidden layers of emotions and your subconscious. It is an invitation to the mind to be completely at home in your body. Trance dance teaches you to be true to the movement that comes from within. Dance your tears, your joy, and allow breath and heartbeat to connect us all.

This dance practice connects you to your inner space and all the parts of yourself that are sometimes forgotten, hidden or not tended to. To meet yourself in truth, without distraction or illusions from the outside world. So that you can take this remembrance into your daily life and operate from that space of wholeness.

Inner Dance Journeys strip you of illusions, like limiting beliefs, stuck emotions, stress, or physical pain and illnesses. It helps you to let go of the mind as the primary guide and connects you more deeply with your heart center, initiating profound change and healing of old emotions or traumas by entering the theta and delta brainwave (trance state). Your heart & soul calm down and you remember and feel your unique blueprint (the frequency of your heart).

About the Inner Trance Dance Event

Inner Trance Dance is deeply powerful, because when we let go of our thoughts and outer vision, stimulated by breath, sound, rhythm and movement, we enter the flow of the life stream. In the movement and sound we enter a space of no mind, where we can experience the cosmic intelligence that flows through all things.

In the space of pure surrender and flow we unify and remember we are more than just a body, more than mind... we have a soul.
A spirit of all creation, eternal, yet forever changing and evolving in the greatest cosmic dance on earth.

The four elements of the dance are:

BANDANA:

  • helps you to let go of ordinary reality, distractions and outer world 

  • takes you inside and helps you to focus on the subtle layers of yourself 

  • helps you to connect with your senses and your heart 

INTENTION:

  • our intention creates our reality - what we focus on is what we call into our life´s 

  • the intention for the dance is going to be around calming the heart & soul or healing the physical, emotional or mental body (f.e. a specific emotion, pain or illness pattern)

BREATH OF FIRE:

  • a very strong breathing technique 

  • designed to raise the energy in the body, brain and senses

  • helps you to let go of the mind & move into trance 

  • chest breathing only fills the upper lung areas, while abdominal breathing only fills the lower and middle areas - the breath of fire combines the advantages of both breathing techniques, as it engages the entire respiratory system—every part of the lungs, every cell, and every respiratory muscle.. this is one of the most important benefits of the breathing technique 

DANCE TO RHYTHMIC SOUNDS:

  • we want to encourage you to let intuitive movement flow through your body 

  • let the music invoke your emotions 

  • allow your body to express itself 

  • the movement can become repetitive, the body can vibrate or shake - its perfectly normal and a sign of moving into trance and releasing stuck emotion or releasing disease/pain patterns anchored in the body as energetic patterns
